Saab J-29F Tunnan (RM-2B turbo jet)
The Saab J-29, at ist time an aerodynamically very advanced design, was more or less "built around" the engine. The picture gives an impression how the design was dominated by the engine's shape. The pilot's ejection seat was ahead of the air intag tube and ahead of the engine. The swept back wings were linked to the fuselage above the engine-bay-frames. Wether this gives a"mid-set" or a "high-set" wing is debatable. The control-surfaces are classical ailerons at the wing tips, vertical fin with rudder and horizontal fin with elevator flaps.
